Italian White Wines
Our favorite Italian White Wines
White wines are mainly obtained through the winemaking of musts made from grapes of white berry grapes. In some cases, there is also the possibility of make wine in white musts made from black grapes, this is possible by separating the skins immediately after squeezing, thus preventing the dispersion of dyeing substances to the must. The most iconic case of this procedure is that of Pinot Noir, used to produce sparkling wines (including blanc de Noirs).
The simplest and most accessible versions of white wines are characterized by a modest acidity, while the structured ones are characterized by a high alcohol content and extracted in greater quantities. Then there are white wines obtained from aromatic grapes, those whose grapes are equipped with intense aromas even before fermentation, aromas that are then found also in finished wines. Moscati, many varieties of Malvasie and the aromatic Traminer are part of this type.
